Building Bright Futures: Seventh Beam’s Partnership with Swinburne University

Jeff Smith

At Seventh Beam, we’re passionate about innovation, and that extends to fostering the next generation of tech talent. That’s why we’re proud of our longstanding partnership with Swinburne University’s BBIT Program

A History of Collaboration

Our connection with BBIT goes back further than our sponsorship program. Our CEO, Steve Baker, and leadership group members David Bittner and Nicholas Vella are all BBIT graduates themselves! This shared background fosters a deep understanding of the program’s curriculum and the skills it equips students with.

Building Real-World Skills

Since 2017, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming six BBIT students for six or twelve-month placements.  These placements aren’t just about busywork. Students are integrated into real projects, working alongside our experienced team.  They receive close supervision and direction, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the realities of delivering apps for commercial clients.

Success Stories

The program has been a resounding success. All the students who’ve come through our doors have made significant contributions during their placements.  We’ve been so impressed with two students in particular, Nicholas and Sav, that they’ve become permanent members of the Seventh Beam team! Their talent and dedication are a true testament to the quality of education provided by BBIT.

Investing in the Future

We’re committed to our partnership with Swinburne University.  By providing students with practical experience and mentorship, we’re helping to shape the future of the tech industry.  These bright minds are the future innovators, and we’re proud to play a role in their journey.
