ABOUT FRANK

Frank Arrigo is a Solutions Architecture Manager with AWS based in Melbourne.

He is a passionate advocate for the Australian software ecosystem, believes that “bits” trump “atoms” as it allows Australia digital companies to compete & excel globally, and is a big believer that abundance will allow us all to live better lives

He was previously the Evangelism & Ecosystem Engagement lead in Telstra’s CTO, connecting customers and partners, portfolio companies, research institutes and the startup community to Telstra’s Innovation activities.  He had originally joined Telstra in 2014 to be the API Evangelist in the Telstra Software Group, responsible for Telstra’s API Strategy and developer community engagement to ensure Telstra had delighted developers.

Prior to Telstra, Frank had been with Microsoft, where he most recently was a Principal Technical Evangelist in Microsoft’s Developer & Platform Evangelism (DPE) field evangelism team. Frank had been based in Seattle from 2007 to 2011 where he lead the World Wide Technical Evangelist community.  Frank joined Microsoft Australia in May 1991, and held a variety of roles within the company over the years, ranging from the first CTO of the ninemsn joint venture in Australia, driving Windows Media business development in Asia Pacific, and managing the early technology trials of Microsoft’s Interactive TV in Seattle.

Outside of work, Frank has four digital natives, who keep him on his toes; an awesome wife, who puts up with him; and is a blindly optimistic supporter of the St Kilda Football Club, which means he always tips with his heart and not with his head.
